Random pithy quote: Never be afraid to try something new. Remember, amateurs built the ark, professionals built the Titanic.

Did a day-trip yesterday to Long Island for I-Con. Had a good time, chatted with David and Sharon.
Not even the fact that non-pre-registered members got stuck in a waiting line outside, in the cold and rain could take much away from that.
That was bad.
What was worse was listening to a group of about a half-dozen idiots about five feet back holding a belching contest.
What made the line truly intolerable, though, was the guy right behind me.
Dressed as a Galactic Empire naval officer in what looked like either a powder blue or light, light gray, he whined constantly.
It's cold.
My hands are freezing.
Why isn't the line moving?
They should get adults to run the con.
Whine whimper sqeal
You know what, pal? Everyone else on that line was stuck outside in the rain and cold. We knew that already.
The only time he was silent was when he was gathering his breath for a fresh round of literally wimpering whines.
You - personally - made that line intolerable.
When we finally made it inside and they let the credit card payers spall off into another line, all we could say amongst ourselves was "Thank god we don't have to listen to that whiny little bitch any more."
If anyone else in that line was on the jury, they'd have agreed that it would have been justifiable homicide.
Doesn't the 501st Legion have any standards? If that whiner was any yardstick, it's no wonder the Galactic Empire fell.
I'm still bummed out that I didn't think of the way to shut him up that my friend suggested: whip out my cell phone and start recording him and, if asked, say I'm going to share his whininess on YouTube. I'll have to keep that solution ready in a back pocket for any future repeats.

I've decided to start looking for a new host for the site.
I've had this recurring issue for about three years now and I have yet to find any aspect of 'support' in Dreamhost's 'tech support.'
I suppose I have only myself to blame for using so inexpensive a hosting service.
The basic parameters I'm interested in would be:
Cron jobs.
I'm sure I could come up with more, but that's a good start for off-the-cuff.

The basic parameters I'm interested in would be:
Multiple user accounts.
At least three domains.
High numbers of or unlimited subdomains.
High numbers of or unlimited email accounts.
High or unlimited bandwidth (I've peaked out over 1.5TB in a couple of months with the CD site).
High or unlimited storage space (I use something on the order of50GB200GB of disk space across all my subdomains, I'd have to check).
MySQL databases.
Actual technical support.
Cron jobs.
I'm sure I could come up with more, but that's a good start for off-the-cuff.
